Orlando Antonio Caruci Silva, known in the music industry as Orlando Caruci, is a 62-year-old Venezuelan singer with a musical career spanning approximately 50 years. For the last 25 years, I have been the lead vocalist of a Venezuelan orchestra of international renown called Los Blanco, with whom I have toured throughout Venezuela, Colombia, and parts of the United States. I have received public recognition on radio and television, along with admiration from loyal fans of our music and esteemed musicians such as Joe Arroyo, Oscar de León, Los Corraleros del Majagual, Billo’s Caracas Boys, Los Melódicos, Porfi Baloa, and Los Adolescentes, among others. Presently, the media has dubbed me one of the foremost exponents of Guaracha Zuliana, and I am known by various musical pseudonyms including “La Garganta de Oro”.

I was born on May 25, 1960, on the Eastern Coast of Lake Maracaibo, specifically in the Tía Juana Oil Fields, Municipality of Simón Bolívar, Zulia State. My musical career began in 1973, and until 1997, I was part of various musical orchestras in Maracaibo, Zulia State, including “Agrupación Sensación,” “Agrupación Fabula,” “Grupo 7,” “Sabor Latino,” “Orquesta La Combinación 77,” “Orquesta La Mayor,” and “Orquesta Bochinche.”
In May 1997, I joined one of Venezuela’s most popular orchestras, nationally and internationally known as “Los Blanco,” initially as a substitute for lead vocalist José “Cheo” Matos, who had a throat condition at the time. Over the years, I gained experience and acceptance, becoming one of the lead voices alongside Leopoldo Blanco, Cecilio Blanco, and José “Cheo” Matos, performing across Venezuela.
“Los Blanco” is a Venezuelan tropical music orchestra founded by the Blanco brothers in Maracaibo, Zulia State, in 1965. They have gained national renown and international recognition in Colombia, the United States, and other countries, producing approximately 38 albums over their more than 60-year career.
In 2002, I recorded my first single with “Los Blanco” titled “Otra Vez me Enamoré,” which quickly became a national hit and a classic for the orchestra over the years.
In 2004, I participated in “Los Blanco’s” album “La Gaita Llegó,” featuring six-time Latin Grammy winner Oscar De León. I had the opportunity to record four solo tracks on this album, which received positive reviews despite being the orchestra’s first zuliana gaita album.
In 2005, “Los Blanco” released the album “Ayer y Hoy,” a compilation of their hits re-recorded with new musical arrangements. I recorded four solo tracks on this album as well.
In 2007, “Los Blanco” released the album “Diceselo,” where I recorded the second version of “Otra Vez me Enamoré” and the track “Cupido Soy,” both written by Leopoldo Blanco.
In 2010, “Los Blanco” celebrated their 50th anniversary with a major production featuring renowned Venezuelan artists. I recorded the track “A ti Solita” for this album.
In 2012, I pursued a personal project recording a Bolero album titled “Orlando Caruci Románticos Clásicos 1,” featuring eight classic Boleros by various composers.
In 2013, I obtained a Colombian VISA to perform with “Los Blanco” at Medellín’s “Feria de Las Flores,” an international festival comparable in importance to Rio de Janeiro’s Carnival and Germany’s Oktoberfest.
In 2014 and 2015, we returned to Colombia for the “Feria de Las Flores” in Medellín and performed at Barranquilla’s International Carnivals.
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, I participated in several audiovisual productions with “Los Blanco,” including homages and performances posted on YouTube.
In 2021 and 2022, I continued performing in the United States under the sponsorship of World’s Production Inc. and its CEO Alberto “Papi” Tovar, including significant media appearances and concerts.
In 2022, I have continued performing in the United States and have upcoming audiovisual projects, including a Christmas message and a Fusion Cumbia Tex Mex video with Sound Round Production.
