Javier Vicente Agostini Pineda,
Born in Maracaibo, Zulia State, Venezuela, on January 27, 1975. In 1987, at the age of 11, he studied music as an elective for 5 years at the “General Rafael Urdaneta” military school in the city of Cabimas, Zulia State, Venezuela, where he revealed some of his talents as an author, composer, and percussionist in music classes. He was part of the gaita ensemble and participated in sports and cultural activities for 5 consecutive years.
Javier belongs to the AFM (American Federation of Musicians) / Professional Musicians Association of Houston, registered under number: 1360250. He is a member of Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI), registered under number IPI 00888080887, and a member of SACVEN (Society of Authors and Composers of Venezuela), registered under number: S10214 since 2010. He is also a member of CD Baby, Inc., which handles copyright protection and online music distribution for bands and independent artists. In 2010, the musical band “EL K-MION GAITERO” was created and the album “Sabor y Tradición” was produced, which includes 10 musical works released nationwide in Venezuela. Additionally, the radio and television program “El Bar TV” was launched, under the production of an independent national producer. The song “La Gaita de la Totuma” was the promotional single of that year. Javier was the general producer of the group, working together with the Castro brothers from Tía Juana, Zulia State, Venezuela. Together, they created their own musical style and won two awards under his direction: “Gaita Group of the Year” and the “Balancín de Oro Award” as Revelation of the Year for the musical work “La Gaita de la Totuma,” performed by Carlos Santiago and Leonardo Santiago. Eight of the ten songs on the album were written and composed by him.
He also created the brand “El Bar TV” as a medium for the radio and television program, which was awarded in 2012 with the Mara de Oro de Venezuela statuette as the “Radio and TV Program Revelation of the Year” of the COL, in Zulia State, Venezuela. In 2011, he created the musical work “El Cristo Negro de Maracaibo” together with Maestro Tito Alberto Delgado Silva, with musical arrangements by Mauricio Emmanuel and Ricardo Pelón Aguirre. This musical work received the Alma Zuliana Cuna de Gaiteros award as Gaita Maracaibera of the Year, in its first edition in homage to Luis Antonio Escaray, awarded by the Richard Ger Foundation. That same year, Javier Agostini received the award from the Mara de Oro de Venezuela Foundation as National Composer of the Year. Another musical work of his authorship was “Al Siervo de Dios Dr. Gregorio Hernández,” performed by Teresa Jiménez. This piece won the award from the Mara de Oro de Venezuela Foundation as Religious Theme of the Year. The group received the awards for Revelation Group of the Year, Best Gaita Music Production of Zulia State, Venezuela, in 2011, by the record label Productora Veinte-Veinte. C.A., with 7 musical works of his authorship and composition on the album called “La Evolución de la Gaita.”
In 2012, he wrote the musical work “El Indio Paraujano” and received the ALMA ZULIANA award, Cuna de Gaiteros, from the Richard Ger Organization, in homage to Rafael Rincón González, for his participation in the 1st Election of the First Gaita of the Year 2012 in the Costa Oriental del Lago, Zulia State, Venezuela. He also received a recognition from the Orgullo Zuliano organization, as a Cultor and Promoter of Gaita and the different groups from the Costa Oriental del Lago in the city of Maracaibo. Javier Agostini was selected as an artistic figure of the gaita musical genre in the 2012 SACVEN almanac magazine. In homage to Luis Alfonso Larraín, he was named Nobel Composer of the Year for the gaita musical genre, a cultural heritage of Venezuela.
In 2013, he released the song “Las Pirañas Robapelos,” written and composed by him together with Jack Pérez. Javier Agostini and the group Onda Gaitera received an award from the Mara de Oro de Venezuela Foundation as the Most Popular Gaita, National Reference, 2013. Additionally, Javier Agostini received the Balancín de Oro award that same year, in its 23rd edition as Gaita of the Year.
In 2014, he released the song “Papita, Maní, Tostón,” written and composed by him as a tribute to Venezuelan baseball, together with Luis Eduardo Bracho, performed by Deyvins Márquez, with the participation of Pepe Delgado Rivero, the most popular announcer in the history of Venezuelan baseball. Javier was awarded by the Mara de Oro de Venezuela Foundation as the Most Cheerful and Popular Gaita Party of the Year, with National Reference in Venezuela. Other awards and recognitions in his professional career as a composer and producer were given by the Chiquinquirá de Oro Foundation as Composer and Producer of the Year 2014, and by Zuliano de Platino as a Zuliano author-composer producer. In 2014, he wrote an institutional theme called “Viva la Filantropía,” a tribute to the Masons of this land, with the surgeon and city chronicler Edixon Ochoa, performed by Luis Morales.
